Spread of swine flu in IOK concerns Mirwaiz

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed serious concern over the alarming rise in the cases of Swine Flu across the territory.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar deplored that the health department of the territory had not untaken inadequate measures in hospitals and medical centers to cure and control the spread of the disease.
“The people are expressing strong resentment and disappointment over the lackadaisical approach of the authorities in handling the grim situation arising from lack of preventive measures and scarcity of medical supplies including masks, vaccines and medicines,” the Mirwaiz said. “A lot needs to be done in order to contain the deadly disease,” he stated.
He said that it seemed that the authorities had failed to make people aware about the deadly disease and proper treatment was not being provided to the patients.
